Running into Wave 45 with a group of standard DPS units is a recipe for disaster. You need a balanced squad to manage boss aggro, CC incoming swarms, and repair damage.

To slow down the boss and prevent minor runner leak-throughs, construct a defensive chokepoint at the secondary gate. Place standard metal barricades in a double-layer honeycomb pattern. Place a decoy summon tower directly in front of the gate. This forces the boss's pathfinding to target the summon first, sparing your walls from its initial charges. Do not focus all your fire on the Boss. The boss is accompanied by high-velocity toxic runners and armored spitters that can bypass your front lines:
Wave 45 introduces the giant Abomination Boss, which possesses high-speed charge attacks and toxic gas AOE. Standard walls melt in seconds if the boss is not actively kited by a Bastion or summon decoy.
The Bastion class is highly recommended for tanking boss charges due to its shield pool, while a Medic is essential to keep the defensive barricades repaired. Necromancers provide summoned decoys to distract the boss.
The Arctic Striker is critical because its freeze effect slows down the boss's charge, giving your team's Heavy Rifles and Gatling Guns time to shred its massive health bar.
